I am fascinated by the lines I see in nature. Patterns on stones can look like ocean waves and clouds can resemble sand dunes. I find myself exploring all these connections with paint, marker, oil pastel and pencil. This kind of observation reminds me of words from one of my favourite painters, Mark Tobey:
“On pavements and the bark of trees I have found whole worlds.”
These pieces are part of a new series called “align.” Lines in nature repeat themselves and remind me of my connection to everything and everyone on this beautiful planet. Exploring like this makes me appreciate and want to protect this place we all call home.
